How to select a receiver
At least prepare PCM or 2.4G receiver for multi-axis aircraft. It will be a nightmare for PPM receiver to be used in multi-axis. No matter how fine you adjust it, PPM's anti-interference and rudder-shaking characteristics will make all efforts go up in flames. There is no out-of-control protection or no stable out-of-control protection trigger (some secondary frequency conversion PPM receivers support out-of-control protection, but the trigger is unstable), which will lead to machine loss and machine crash. Before flying, be sure to test whether the flight control enters the correct state after the shutdown and whether the receiver out-of-control protection works correctly when the propeller is not installed.
The commercial data transmission station is anti-jamming, frequency hopping, data validation and redundancy, and it is also very stable in data return and out-of-control protection. The ground station supported by flight control can set the waypoint and route to complete the scheduled task, which is also a good choice. However, low-end fixed-frequency data transmission with poor stability such as APC250 is not recommended.
Popular flight controllers in the market, such as NAZA, Wookong-M, SuperX, X4 and X6, can observe the rudder output of the receiver in the remote controller calibration interface. If any channel jumps without steering, unfortunately, the quality of your receiver is poor or the controlled potentiometer is worn, which leads to rudder flutter. It is not recommended to do any calibration and flight before troubleshooting.
Receiver antenna placement
The importance of antenna placement on multi-axis aircraft is second only to the selection of receivers with good quality. As far as the popular receivers in the market are concerned, there are FM, 2.4G, 433M and 900M. The unified principle is to be as far away from the signal transmitting and receiving devices as possible, especially from image transmission, carbon fiber materials and metals, and to use foam materials to separate the antenna from the carbon fiber materials by 3 ~ 5cm. FM antenna should be placed without winding or overlapping, and the antenna length should be stretched as far as possible. It is best to hang under the machine body for a certain length without winding the propeller. The 433M and 900M receiving antennas should be perpendicular to the ground, and the 2.4G receiving antennas should be placed at 90 degrees to each other.
FUTABA's receiver instruction clearly states that the receiver should be far away from carbon fibers and conductors, and if possible, the receiver should be separated from carbon fiber materials by a distance of more than 15 cm. Of course, it is difficult to do this on multiple axes, but do your best to create good reception conditions for the receiver.
